Dr. Ayas is a Pediatric Hematologist Oncologist; he is American Board certified both in Pediatrics and Pediatric Hematology.
Dr. Ayas did his residency at Tod’s Children’s Hospital in Youngstown, Ohio and then his fellowship in Pediatric Hematology-Oncology at the University of Florida in Gainesville, Florida.
Dr. Ayas is currently the head of the Section of Stem Cell Transplant and Cellular Therapy at King Faisal Specialist Hospital in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Dr. Ayas’s main interest is in stem cell transplant in bone marrow failure syndromes and particularly Fanconi Anemia. He has authored and co-authored a multitude of publications in the field in peer-reviewed journals.
